EPDM and SBR

EPDM (Ethylene-Propylene-Diene-Monomer) rubber granules have been used in the flooring industry since the 1960’s. Used in both residential and commercial Prairie Safety Surfacing uses only the highest quality EPDM available, providing long term UV stability, strength and colour consistency. Our EPDM has been used all over the world in hot and cold climates and continues to perform year after year. EPDM rubber granules are available in a wide range of colours. The colour of the granule is consistent to the core, not just coated on the outside, ensuring long lasting quality & colour, even in high traffic environments.

SBR (Styrene-Butadiene-Rubber) is an environmentally friendly, granulated recycled tire material which has been used in North America for over 30 years. Primarily used for playgrounds, the natural black rubber granules can be coated with a coloured polyurethane. SBR granules were the first rubber product used in 1983. we now use a cost-efficient grade of SBR for filling in low areas on existing surfaces and providing fall protection on playgrounds prior to a top coat of EPDM. A higher grade SBR can be used on driveways, garages and walkways.
